About St Martha’s, the CQC has highlighted how staff treated patients with compassion and kindness, respected their privacy and dignity, and understood their individual needs.
Summary of CQC reports
The CQC found that patients were safe, cared for and well looked after by staff; that there was a truly holistic approach to assessing, planning and delivering care and treatment to all patients; that families and carers were actively involved in care decisions; and that NHS England commissioners had witnessed a high level of compassion and understanding. Staff were described as being passionate about their work, ready to go the extra mile to ensure patients’ needs were met, and genuinely caring about patients’ emotional wellbeing.
It also reported that St Martha’s was well led, with managers visible on the wards, approachable by patients and staff, and supporting staff to progress in their roles.
