St Martha’s Hospital, Ringwood, is a locked mental health unit located in the New Forest for both women and men aged 55 and over with a diagnosed mental health condition. We are part of the St Magnus community who recently received a good rating from the CQC and we are looking to recruit team members who want to continue that ethos.
We are currently looking to recruit qualified Registered Mental Health or Registered General Nurses to join our team. We offer lots of fantastic opportunities for further education thanks to our onsite dedicated education team and we offer a clear career pathway.
Your role would include:
- To deliver a high standard of evidence based inpatient nursing care in partnership with the wider clinical team, the service users and their family members/carers.
- To act as a primary nurse in the assessment of needs and organising and delivery of care.
To co-ordinate shifts and provide supervision for support workers and nurses in training. - To work within a team of nurses and other professionals who are committed to the delivery of a quality service.
- To adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24-hour period.
- To take charge of a designated ward area and deputise for the ward manager/deputy ward manager as appropriate.
- To be an active participant in the multi-disciplinary team, formulating care plans and utilising appropriate assessments and evaluations.
- To represent the ward manager and/or care team, at appropriate forums and disseminate information as required.
- To represent the clinical team perspective at multidisciplinary meetings and clinical reviews of patient care.
We are pleased to be able to offer a variety of contracts including full time (42hrs) and part time by arrangement.
Applicants are required to be flexible as our shifts span a 24 hour period 7 days a week.
Applicants must have;
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Two satisfactory references
- A ‘live’ Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) pin number and would require either experience or an interest in older adults mental health.
